Look at me!

I got a lot more then usual done today. I worked on cleaning out my craft closet. It's more like a junk closet, things just get put in there randomly. I wanted to organize my sewing stuff and dig out my machine so I can make myself a few eyelets shirts.

So that got done. Then I worked out a bit, cause I was already sweaty. I call it 'gymed' although I don't actually go to the gym.

What else...

I made a few samples for cards for the wedding. I have probably eight months to get these done... ug, that's for the other blog.

I ran an few errands. Bought some shampoo for grey hair. There is some that is really good for purple and blue hair. So I searched it out.

Bleached my hair so tomorrow I can repurple it. I do NOT look good blonde. And I have no interest to find out if they have more fun. More people pay attention to me with the purple hair.

Wrote some. I'm getting better and better at writing now that I have a creative outlet. This won't make much sense, but I have to tell someone. Daisy proposed to Ichabod and they are getting married in August.

I know I did more, but I am so tired I can't remember it all. I found these cute little not even footies socks that are striped and polka dots to wear in my clean Converse. And it got me thinking, OMG, I could totally knit this is like four minutes. So tomorrow I'm going to do just that. Knit some sock-lets.

Now I'm sitting in bed watching I Heard A Voice. I was thinking, I saw AFI for the first time in 1999. That was almost TEN YEARS AGO now. I can't think of anyone else (Bowie doesn't count) that I've been a fan of for so long. I was faithful through all Davey's personas. My favorite of all time being STS, I've said that more then once. I even loved his whole glam rock era, but I'm sort of glad he's pushed through to a much hotter sort of dapper things that he's got going on for Blaqk Audio. Man is just gorgeous.

Sloth

So, I've been watching movies. Being downright lazy.

I Netflix everything, so that's sort of my excuse, but seriously, I can multi task with the best of them.

I picked up Elizabeth : The Golden Age. Which I admit was sort of without much storyline. I was just getting into it when I realized it was sort of over. Sir Raleigh was in it for, what, looks? I was confused, but who am I kidding, loved it. Love Elizabeth, loved the costuming, love the whole era. So I watched it again. I'm send it back today, see what comes next.

I'm also dragging my feet on The Holiday. I'm watching it for a specific reason, so I have to get through it, but it's just not holding my attention. I've started and stopped it three times over the weekend. I want to finish it this morning so I can mail it back today. I can't specifically say what's so wrong about it. I mean, Jude Law, hello. But I do not like Cameron Diaz. I don't think she's pretty, I don't like her character, so I have to swallow past my gag reflex to watch her scenes.

In other news, I updated my profile picture. It's actually me. Yes, I realize I should have taken one of me WITH makeup on, I look sort of odd without eyeliner. But get over it.

Five A.M. on the bathroom floor from the night before.
Do you find me dreadful?
What a shame such a sad disgrace,
Such a pretty face,
But she's not regretful.

I'm on fire...

So, lots of people asked about the tattoo. It's sort of a new concept, yeah, not one I've talked about before. But it was sort of a crazy week. My Uncle drown in a flood in Michigan and the anniversary of my Dad's death was coming fast. I was stuck in an endless loop of Sing the Sorrow, which forgive me, was perhaps the best AFI era ever, both vocally and fashion wise. Anyway... the song Death of Seasons was sort of stuck when I accidentally hit the repeat button instead of the shuffle. No big deal, but the lyrics are :

I feel the falling stars encircle me, now as they cry.
I held the falling star and it wept for me, dyin'.
I watch the stars they fall from the sky.
And well, it was fate. I needed to have stars encircling me. I was just listening to This Celluloid Dream again, on loop, I need to fix that. This song is catchy. Cinematic!

Moving on...

I seemed to have gotten a ton of knitting done. It's cold in Cali. Compared to here, at least. So I'm cranking out the fingerless gloves and berets with a quickness.

I'm also back into some other stuff I used to work on. I unearthed a few boxes of supplies trying to organize for this move. I'm excited to be back mainland, but crazy about moving across an ocean. It's not the first time, but I hate waiting for my stuff and my cars. ANGST!

I lost the cord to hook my Crackberry to my laptop, so that's sort of what prompted the cleaning frenzy. It's been suggested I might be OCD, cause I am so overly organized (I own a well used labeling machine) but I couldn't find it. Panic. So now I'm back in business.

Now, back to writing this damn thesis. It's not going to finish itself.

ZOMG I'm excited.

For two reasons.

One - My new Copics came this morning. I ended up getting only nine. A light pink, a coral, a teal, a green, a blender and a few toners. I placed a second order for a sketch set over the weekend, so those should be here on Thursdayish. I'm also anticipating a few packages to arrive today from a few other places I ordered markers from. It's near impossible to get all the colors you want from ONE place.

In similar news, I went a little nuts at Papertrey Ink. Lets just say I wanted it all, so yeah, got it all.

Two - I found the second ball of the Rowan Fusion I was looking for. I KNEW I had two balls of the pink. So I'm casting on for an Urchin today. I should have it done in no time, I need to start knitting for cold weather.

I'm hoping I can get some work done before DxH calls again. He's a HUGE times waster...

Being Vegan - Cheese

I don't post here enough. I know. I'm always on IJ, but looking at my stats here, people visit. So in order to give you all something to look at, I'm going to drone on about myself more. This post will be about being vegan.

I'm sort of vegan. I try. Very hard. But it's not easy, cheese gets slipped into places you don't expect, people bleach sugar with animal bones. It's all very complicated.

But I'm going to talk a moment about cheese. I'm not going to lie, I love cheese. I've been to France, I lived in Italy, I've had some good cheese. I'm all about the non-violent aspect of consumption. But, I will eat cheese if it's made at a local farm, by well cared for animals in someones kitchen. If you have a pet goat, and you milk it and make cheese, you are my hero and I will soon be at your door asking for cheese please.

Maybe I'm missing the whole 'don't objectify' animals part of being vegan or something, I don't really know, I haven't read books. I'm no expert. That's just my interpretation.

If I can see first hand you love your goat, keep her for a pet, she's kept in good conditions, and all that, why is it wrong to eat cheese made from her milk? Is it the actual MILKING that you object to?

I tell you what, I'm going to go to the library and find some reference material and get back to you.
